Research data citation
Citation practices may vary between disciplines and publishers. Inform yourself by asking colleagues within your department, your publisher or the counselling for scientific work, which form of citation is to be used. You are welcome to also direct questions about research data citation to the research data management initiative.
Data citation (within a bibliography)
The following recommendations for data citation were published by FORCE11 and serve as first guidance.
Author(s) (Publication year): Title of research data. Data repository or archive. Version. Global persistent identifier (preferably as a link)

Software citation
The following recommendations are based on the results of the FORCE11 Software Citation Working Group. Accordingly, it is recommended to mark the software as such (e.g. [Software]), to define the type of software more precisely (e.g. source code or container) and also to specify the respective version.
