Recommendation of 19th HRK general meeting "How university headships can steer the development of research data management. Orientation paths, course of action, scenarios" published.
From the press release of the recommendations of the 19th general meeting of HRK on November 10, 2015 (in German):
The general meeting calls upon federal and state officials to assume a coordinating role in establishing overarching infrastructures for the management of research data as well as to secure the necessary funding.
How university headships can advance research data management:
- Give orientation (via research data policy and scope of action)
- Strengthen data culture and create incentives
- Develop strategy (positioning and own potentials of RDM)
- Organize implementation (clear structure, definition of responsibilities, and good communication)
- Extend infrastructures (services and infrastructures for science)
- Advance competences (central offers of information, integration of RDM in teaching)
