Research data infrastructure: Analysis and Insights from the Questionnaire results

As research becomes increasingly data-driven, robust research data infrastructure is essential for an effective management, sharing, and utilization of data in the scientific community, which is critical for advancing scientific discovery and innovation. Data infrastructure includes hardware, software, and policies to ensure the data are stored, maintained, and potentially shared. In our virtual workshop, Judith Hartstein and Clemens Blümel will introduce the results of “Trend survey on research data infrastructures 2024” carried out at the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies GmbH (DZHW).

This event will be held on July 3rd, 2024, 11-12 am CEST. The FDM Webinar Series is organized and hosted by the CMS-Team for Research Data Management at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. To participate please REGISTER before the event.

About this talk

In this talk, we will present first results of a survey on Research Data Infrastructures among researchers in German higher education and research institutions. The survey was conducted in May 2024 and addressed all academic groups. We will focus on perceptions, current practices and needs for future development of research data infrastructures with

emphasis on the similarities and differences between research fields. Additionally, implications for the German National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI) will be discussed. The trend survey is part of the project „Systematic assessment of impact of Base4NFDI“.
